July 2013

I would like to thank you all so much for your very generous award which I was so very proud to receive at the St. Mary Catholic Secondary School graduation ceremony exercises on June 27, 2013.

With moving forward in the next chapter of my life, I have chosen to further my education by attending Algonquin College in the fall. As post-secondary education costs continue to rise, it is reassuring to know that people such as you and your family are willing to recognize and assist students like myself. I would also like to let you know that being a  member of the A.B.I. committee at St. Mary really helped me feel included in the school and also encouraged me to reach out of my comfort zone. It takes a strong family like yours to make a change in Northumberland so for that I thank you!

Your generosity is much appreciated and I am proud to be one of the two recipients at St. Mary this year.

July 2012

I’d just like to thank you for your generosity in helping with post-secondary. Abi’s story has truly inspired me to really get to know people, become a better friend and to continue standing up to bullying with a passion. Your program has inspired so many people and has truly made a difference. Don’t ever lose hope in this program. It reaches out to so many people. This program has made a difference to me and several others. It was an honour being part of this. If you guys ever need any assistance with anything, I will be glad to be an asset. Thank you again.

I am emailing as a Supervising Teacher of Colborne Public School’s EarlyAct Club, which works towards making our School, Community, and our World a better place. During anti-bullying week we held a ‘hat day’ fundraiser to raise money for the ABI Initiative, which we feel is an incredible effort by yourselves to work towards a better and more inclusive World.

We spent a great deal of time on your website and talking about bullying and how to be a positive advocate for change. The students at our school responded very well to the resources you offer, and the members of the Club worked very hard that week to promote and encourage others to step up and speak out.

We raised almost $50 for the A.B.I. Initiative, which may not seem like a lot of money but we are quite proud of it and wanted to help out in any way we could ūüôā

Thank you so much for your time and for all you are doing with this incredible  Initiative!!

Thanks!

I showed my class the video you made on A.B.I. Wow! What a video! Amazingly done. It had me and a few other students in the class crying. It was very touching and hit home for many students. We had a great discussion following the video. I think their attitude on bullying will be much different after today. I made it very clear how serious of an issue it is.

Dear Kempton Family,

On behalf of Bruce, we would like to extend our thanks for presenting Bruce with the Abigayle Kempton Memorial Award. It was a real honour. The award money will go towards tuition for next semester, and the Hoselton design is marvelous!

Rest assured, your memory of Abi will be kept alive in our family.

Yours truly,

The A.B.I. initiative and pledge works great for our day camp program – it gives staff something visual to remind children of the importance of thinking about how they treat others. I would love to use the pledge again next year.

My wife works as a psychologist in the Toronto District School Board and spends a good part of her time counselling victims of bullying.  This is an unfortunate part of our society that needs a great deal of attention and greater awareness.

Please accept my admiration for the work that is being accomplished in this area.

I laud Abigayle’s family for giving us, the community, an opportunity to do something positive to try to help other victims of bullying; to help parents, family, teachers and all of us to recognize the signs of bullying; to try to prevent bullying.¬†
